Hi, I'm Stephanie, a licensed speech-language pathologist and the founder of Essex Therapy.
I created Essex Therapy with the belief that communication support should be personalized, relationship-driven, and centered around each individual's unique strengths and goals. My approach combines evidence-based practice with meaningful connections, helping children and adolescents develop skills that carry over into everyday life.
Prior to founding Essex Therapy, I spent more than a decade working in public schools, supporting students with a wide range of communication needs. Those experiences deepened my understanding of the important role communication plays in learning, relationships, confidence, and overall quality of life.
Today, I support children and teens experiencing challenges related to speech sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, language delays, social communication differences, auditory processing challenges, and executive functioning skills.
As a mobile speech-language pathologist, I strive to meet families where they are—providing services in natural environments that support meaningful growth, confidence, and connection.
In addition to my work as an SLP, I am also a children's author. I wrote Sneaky School Surprise, a rhyming picture book inspired by my love of literacy, language development, and helping children discover the joy of books. My passion for reading and storytelling often influences the way I support communication growth in therapy.
Essex Therapy is truly a family business. While I provide clinical services, my husband supports many of the behind-the-scenes operations that help keep the practice running smoothly. Together, we are committed to creating a positive and personalized experience for every family we serve.
As a mom of two young boys, I understand how important communication is in everyday family life. Some of the most meaningful learning happens during ordinary moments—through play, conversation, reading, and connection.
When I'm not working with clients, you'll often find me spending time with my family, exploring the outdoors, reading children's books, and spoiling our rescued Plott Hound.
Thank you for visiting Essex Therapy. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting your family's communication journey.
